01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Climb the narrow Monzen-nakacho staircase up to the 3nd floor, and a modest, calming space opens up. The centerpiece of Sorriso's lunch menu is the roast beef bowl, piled generously with tender sliced beef, savory sauce, and a soft-cooked egg that coats every bite. For something lighter, there is a roast beef sandwich on toasted bread as well as a daily toast option.

Limited lunch specials rotate through the week, adding extra incentive to return. Mondays and Tuesdays feature a house beef curry steeped with shredded beef and aromatic spices. From Wednesday through Friday, the weekly soup lunch takes over, offering a steaming bowl accompanied by your choice of an omusubi rice ball or buttered toast.

Lingering after the meal is easy with a finely foamed caffe latte or a crisp house-made lemonade. Desserts such as pudding, cheesecake, and oatmeal banana cake round out the selection, providing a peaceful daytime retreat where solo diners can quietly unwind away from the rush outside.
